KidsOnline has been a consistent promoter and supporter of STEM learning for preschoolers. Over the years, we have helped STEM/STEAM contents partners, including Umbalena, The XR project to broadcast their contents to KidsOnline partner kindergartens, organized exchange trips for kindergartens headmasters from Northern Vietnam to visit STEM-focused kindergartens in South Vietnam and sponsored awards to innovative preschool teachers in MOET’s 2021 e-learning resources development contest.
Seeing the stronger needs for preschools to embrace STEM education with focus on digital literacy, in view of OECD’s decision to include the innovative domain learning in the digital world in the PISA study for the first time by 2025, KidsOnline now integrates KidsEdu STEM curriculum in its app, to accelerate STEM learning adoption in preschools.
Teachers in kindergartens adopting KidsEdu STEM curriculum now can access KidsEdu lesson plans, activity plans conveniently from their KidsOnline app. They will also make STEM learning progress for each student, using pre-built templates on KidsOnline. Parents receive Monthly STEM thematic update on KidsOnline app, detailing their kids’ STEM learning activities in class for the month and suggested follow-on activities that parents can play at home with their children to reinforce the monthly thematic focus. The KidsEdu Coding bot companion in class will continue to be student’s companion at home through engaging coding exercises.
KidsEdu is not just another preschool STEM curriculum. With their pronounced focus on computational thinking (pre-coding) skills, KidsEdu STEM program enables critical thinking skills: creativity, analysis and problem solving in young children aged 3 to 6. Developed over 2 years by a team of experienced and passionate preschool curriculum designers and educational technology experts, the KidsEdu STEM program has been successfully used in multiple preschools in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City. In April 2023, the KidsEdu STEM curriculum was assessed and endorsed for its pedagogical relevance by the Center for Early Childhood Education Research Center, Vietnam National Institute for Educational Sciences (VNIES).
Together, KidsOnline and KidsEdu are committed to make digital literacy and preschool-level computational thinking competence a reality for the majority of Vietnamese preschool students, getting them ready for the digitalized world of the 21st century.
